It is not very common that one type of vaccination will provide immunity against the other diseases of the same group. However, when it comes to production of the certain vaccines, there are many examples which can be seen. There are many other examples of the vaccinations that are done in the public in which the combination vaccination has been used. On the other hand, finding this vaccination was not the good thing as this has shown some of the side effects later in life. For only single vaccine that will work on the wide variety of diseases caused by the same organisms, the vaccination of chicken pox will do it.

According to the study that been published in Pediatric Infectious Diseases Journal, using the vaccination for the chicken pox will also helps in the development of the immunity in the patients for Herpes zoster virus, causing the disease namely shingles. Therefore, finding the immunity in the various groups of patients which are getting the vaccination done for the different diseases at once is not a common phenomenon. Getting the vaccination done in the patients for chicken pox will also get the immunity against the other group of diseases like shingles.

This was the largest study namely Kaiser Permanente study which was done on the bigger cohort of the patients. Hence, more than 170, 000 children were vaccinated for the chicken pox, and years later, on the follow up, there was no cases reported in more than 122 children for shingles. Therefore, the lower rate of the chicken pox along with the far less rate of shingles that was induced in these children has shown the great efficiency of the vaccination that was done in the patients. Therefore, getting to know the better for the mechanism of action is under the research for many communities around the world.

However, there was one thing that was missing in this study. The work that was done on the vaccination for the patients is mostly to control the disease. However, when it comes to the side effects, there was not much research that was done. In some cases, there are side effects that are reported on these patients and this shows that how it can work against the cells of body. However, using the vaccination for the making of the best effects in the body has been reported on many fronts where people are being immunized against chicken pox through vaccination.
